your people lie and lie. I ordered rayban sunglasses to use in the car. I have a high prescription, so I asked the rep to confirm they could make it. person said you could. great! I placed the order. Turns out that was a lie. couple of days later, I got a message that no, framesdirect couldn't make the glasses, so i would have to use a regular frame and new gen transitions lenses. not great, but OK. changed the order. That was also a lie. couple of days later, got a message that framesdirect couldn't do that either, but that i would have to use the old style transitions. not great, but maybe. i asked for confirmation that they would be dark in the car (I had transitions before, and they wouldn't darken in the car). I was assured they would be. that was yet another lie. then i checked framesdirect website, which says they wouldn't darken in the car. That seemed to be a surprise to the next rep I spoke to (apparently staff isn't even trained?). After I pointed to the web page, rep went and confirmed with someone that they wouldn't darken. So, we ended up cancelling the order because framesdirect couldn't make it - even after me checking multiple times. hours of my time wasted chasing around with your incompetent staff, and days wasted not getting my glasses. Update May 24: Frames direct responded to my review that they would have someone from management contact me. Never happened. yet another lie, apparently to make it look they are responsive on trustpilot when they don't actually follow through with commitments.

The selection and variety is good. The ordering process was really easy. I even had someone contact me to make sure that the prescription lenses were supposed to be single vision versus near and far. When I received the glasses, they were really nice. But what I was disappointed in was the fit. The glasses I received had temples that pointed outward. The glasses fit really loosely. After about the second weekend, the right temple became loose. I paid way too much money for these glasses to come to me in this way. These should’ve been spot on with the fit and a dependent hold. I don’t understand why the temples were pushed out so far.

Once I picked a frame that was actually available (some frames are listed as in stock but not actually available), the order was processed and shipped in about three weeks. I wish they would take the 30 secons to round off the corner on the perimeter of the lenses. The machines used to cut lenses to fit the frame can do this in under 30 seconds but I guess this is too much to ask for. This sharp edge can potentially cause a laceration in an accident. Some lens fitters will remove this edge others won't. Besides that the frames were reasonably priced and the prescription was correct.

This was not necessarily Frames Direct's fault. I was unhappy with the glasses that arrived. I ordered a different style frame than usual. It looked fine in the browser, but wasn't fine IRL. Also, the Rx wasn't right and I have no way of telling whether it was their fault or the optician's. The glasses arrived quickly, in perfect shape Update: Frames Direct reached out to me immediately after I posted, offering to try and make things right. That impressed me and I will likely use them again.

Had a great experience overall with Frames Direct. Used my prescription from my local eye doctor to order a backup pair of glasses online at a great price. Because I was ordering the exact same pair I bought in person, just in a different color, I was very confident in ordering online. I've done this twice now, and it's been great. While shipping took a little longer than I expected, they were worth the wait. Look and feel great. Would highly recommend.
