First they said they were out of stock of one of the items, which, no big deal. Then they said cancelling that item changed my shipping and the courier wants an extra $20 to ship. I just had them cancel my order at that point. But why wouldn’t they offs to cover the shipping or do something considering it was their fault?

Paid for express next day shipping and understood that there might be a slight delay due to it being the Christmas period, but items still took much longer than expected. Clothes and shoes arrived smelling awful…. A real musty, stale smell - not sure why. Shoes have been airing for a few days and still have a stale smell. A disappointing review to have to write as I have shopped here a couple times before and always had a positive experience.

For an online based company the policies are quite ridiculous. It is a US Incorporated company but they ship from India so you need to pay return shipping all the way back to India additionally they don't offer for returns only store credit. I've never heard of such a policy for an online company they don't even have a retail location

Customer service contacted me asking if I wanted the shoes I purchased in the original boxes. I said yes, if course. The manager said I would have to pay double shipping, and sent me another invoice. We sent a bunch of emails arguing about it before they finally sent my shoes. When they arrived, they put masking tape over all the boxes which tore them up anyway.

The return policy that clothes are to be shipped to India in the event of unwanted items is not advertised on the Shan and Toad website. The returns shipping address should be published, so that customers are aware of the large, hidden cost of return and/or exchange.
