Search > Search Features > Front Ends > Remove URLsUse the Search > Search Features > Front Ends > Remove URLs page for specifying URLs or URL patterns that should not be served in search results for a specific front end. As results are being served, you may find some results that you do not want to be served to your end users. To prevent particular URLs from being served in results, you can enter URLs or URL patterns on the Search > Search Features > Front Ends > Remove URLs page. The URL patterns you provide must conform to the "Rules for Valid URL Patterns" in "Administering Crawl: Constructing URL Patterns," which is linked to the Google Search Appliance help center. You can add URL patterns to this page at any time, and they will be removed from the served results. You can also delete the URL patterns in this window at any time to return those patterns to the served results. Because URLs are removed as users are searching, there may be some fluctuation in search result counts as URLs are filtered out one result page at a time. Take note that specifying a long list of patterns can cause increased latency at serve time. Using this page to remove URLs affects search results only. It does not remove URLs from the search index or affect crawl. Before Starting this TaskIf you have multiple front ends for your search appliance, identify the front ends where you want to remove URLs. If you only use the default_frontend, determine if you want to remove URLs from it. If you only want to remove URLs from results for a specific group of end users, you must create a front end for this group of users.
