Index > Diagnostics > Content Statistics

The Index > Diagnostics > Content Statistics page provides information about the types of files the search appliance crawls. You can perform the following tasks on the Content Statistics page:

The information is presented in a tabular format, with a column for each type of information collected. You can display content information for a single collection or all collections. The following table describes the information displayed on the page.

Column

Description

Mime Types The different types of files the search appliance has crawled.
Number of Files Total number of files of a particular mime type
Average Size Average size of all files of a particular mime type
Total Size Aggregate size of all files of a particular mime type
Minimum Size Smallest file size of a particular mime type
Maximum Size Largest file size of a particular mime type

File sizes and aggregate content sizes are displayed in megabytes (M), kilobytes (k), and bytes (no letter abbreviation).

Sorting Information in the Content Statistics Table

To sort the information in ascending order:

  1. Click Index > Diagnostics > Content Statistics.
  2. Click a column heading.

Viewing Content Statistics by Collection

To view the content statistics for a different collection:

  1. Click Index > Diagnostics > Content Statistics.
  2. In the Show Content Statistics for Collection drop-down list, select a different collection.

Exporting a Content Statics Report

To save a copy of a content statistics report:

  1. Click Index > Diagnostics > Content Statistics.
  2. In the Show Content Statistics for Collection drop-down list, select the correct collection.
  3. Click Export to File.
  4. Save the exported file. The default file name is: content_stats_<collection_name>.csv
