Third Race, Third Honor For Wolfe

Parker Wolfe is three for three.
 
Three races into his collegiate career, Wolfe has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Men's Freshman of the Week for the third time. The latest honor follows his 24th-place finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational last Friday in Madison, Wis.
 
In a field of 227 runners, Wolfe, from Denver, Colo., covered the 8K course in 23:49.2.  He was the top finisher for the Tar Heels, placed second among all ACC runners, and was the first conference freshman to cross the line. He helped the Tar Heels to an 18th-place team finish in a field of 31 teams, 17 of which are ranked in the nation's top 30. 
 
Other honorees announced on Tuesday were:
ACC Men's Performer of the Week: Adriaan Wildschutt, Florida State, Sr., Ceres, S. Africa
ACC Women's Performer of the Week – Kelsey Chmiel, NC State, Jr., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
ACC Women's Co-Freshman of the Week – Margot Appleton, Virginia, Fr., Mattapoisett, Mass.
ACC Women's Co-Freshman of the Week – Sarah Copeland, Georgia Tech, Fr., Johannesburg, South Africa
 
Next up for the Tar Heels is the ACC Championship meet on Oct. 29 in South Bend, Ind.
