This year's run – hosted by Cudgegong Cruisers Inc and Can Assist volunteers – starts at the Mudgee Showground, travels through the CBD and on to Rylstone for morning tea and return to the Showground for lunch, to be followed the afternoon's activities including charity auction and live music.
Any type of registered vehicle can enter, be it; muscle car; hot rod; family car; farm ute; bus; road, touring, trail or ag bike. Just as long as it’s registered as the event is held on public roads.
Last year the fundraising event saw 139 vehicles take part, around 20 of which were motorbikes and the rest cars and trucks.
All money raised goes to Can Assist – Mudgee and Districts Branch and stays in this region helping locals doing it tough with a cancer diagnosis.
Some of major charity auction items include; scenic flight for two from Commercial Helicopters; Red Bull Racing jacket from Ross Granata Motors; Stihl blower from Town and Country Mowers and Chainsaws; family photo shoot by Mel Stuart Photography; framed photo of highland cattle; and numerous vouchers for local services courtesy of Mudgee businesses.
Organisers thanked Moolarben Coal, A1 Earthworx Mining and Civil, Mudgee Travel and Cruise, and Mid-Western Regional Council.
“Can Cruise always unites the Mudgee community and we are pleased to sponsor the event for a sixth year," Moolarben Coal general manager Steve Archinal said. “Sadly, we all know someone whether it be a friend or family member who has been affected by cancer. We are proud to support an event like this, that aims to make a difference in the community and in the lives of the people who work and live in the areas where we operate.”
