I thought for the price- the room was small- the water pressure in the shower was a trickle- and the heat/ac didn't work- we were able to open the window- and that proved to be good enough. Carpet in the room was dirty. So there were the negatives-

On the plus side- the elevator- there is only one- was fast- and since we were on the 11th floor we never really had to wait to long to go up or down- Each morning there was a decent breakfast served till 11AM- The staff here, was very friendly and helpful as needed.

This location is in Chinatown- and a block off Canal St- fun area-

Just keep in mind that the lower floors are rented out as a halfway house to NYC social services as housing for homeless and recovering addicts. You will see them hanging around outside the hotel on Christie Street.

Located down the Block from the Manhattan Bridge in Chinatown.

Moderate size hotel with a small lobby and common area on the first floor. They have complementary breakfast in the mornings but is very limited. The rooms are small but it has the essentials: bed and bathroom. The room had a view of the park across the street and you were able to open the window. There's a subway station about two blocks away. You have plenty of restaurant options in walking distance from the hotel. Housekeeping comes everyday to clean up your room if you want that service. The staff was friendly and professional.

I love this hotel! The location is great, just few steps from the subway /metro station. When you check into the hotel you get a very warm welcome from the staff. The rooms had everything I needed, with a view of the Manhattan bridge entrance, as well. I felt a sense of high security in a very busy downtown location. It was a pleasure being in the heart of chinatown and being able to get out and hop on the bus to Boston, Washington D.C, or Baltimore for the day.

They offered a complimentary breakfast with eggs, toast, muffins, an array of breakfast cereals and oatmeals. I was ready to enjoy my stay to visit NYC and happy I picked this location to to stay as my hotel.

A very nice place to stay at across the street is a park, within Manhatten, and right in chinatown. Which was best for me since during this trip I went along with my parents.

They offer breakfast in the morning so that was nice. Nothing fancy, but came with booking a hotel so all good.

The room was nice but if you're on a low level such as floor 6 you might have a horrible view outside the window. Such in my case the back of a house, but who goes to places just for hotel view.

Misplaced your key and need to get into your room in the middle of the night? Too bad!

I lost my key and returned to the hotel around 3 AM. Despite my name being on the room, the person at the desk refused to accept that a person would be asking for a new room key at this late hour and refused to give me one. He said there was no reason for someone to be getting a key in the early morning hours. While I agree it's unusual, it's no reason to refuse me service *when my name is on the room*. Despicable service!

A great place to stay in Chinatown and right near Little Italy. Five minute walk to the subway and plenty of cafes and restaurants also within walking distance.

The rooms are an okay size. Decent size bathroom. Nice and clean. Staff was always pleasant and willing to help. Had a little issue when the safe wouldn't accept our code anymore, had to get the maintenance man to come and unlock it for us. The room was warm which was great as we were travelling during winter.

Fun fact: There is no level 4 in the building as the Chinese consider the number 4 unlucky.

Don't be put off by the three star rating! I would DEFINITELY stay here again! It's good bang for the buck... This hotel is located in Chinatown just a few minutes walk from the subway. Plenty of food choices and just what you'd expect from Chinatown shopping..
You have very quick access to the city. Therefore, don't worry about being "too far away" if your budget doesn't allow you to stay right in the heart of the city...
Our room was located on the 6th floor. It was clean and up to date. It was small... Smaller than my master bedroom at home.... But that was expected and I wasn't disappointed by that at all. I didn't see any bugs or small animals ;/ Stayed Thursday and Friday night - quiet....Hotel is not in a seedy area.
Last but not least, the continental breakfast was pretty hearty....

This is pretty much the whole room!
      Obviously, the bathroom....

Yes, the Taj Mahal it's not. But I'll be back at this hotel for the primary reason I stayed here the first time -- pleasant digs smack dab in/close to my favorite NYC neighborhood: Chinatown.

I stayed here in the "off" month of February, and got a great deal of @ $125 for one of the 2-floor rooms near the top of the building with a view of Manhatten Bridge. I frankly didn't use the 2nd floor sitting area much, but it was nice to sit down at the window after a long day of wandering around and rest there watching busy NYC bustle along outside. In a similar vein I enjoyed waking up to the strains of the music coming from the folks doing tai ji in the park across the street - my wake up call to head out, grab 2 pork buns & coffee, and wake up eating them while watching the tai ji routines.

The hotel itself is what you'd expect from a chain; in this case though an above the norm chain experience. The morning breakfast, while typical of a chain hotel, was well stocked, with actual hot meat items as well as bread, cereals, pastries, make-your-own waffles, fruits, etc. If not for my love of Chinese pork buns, I'd have availed myself of it all. The room was quite nice, and above the usual chain experience. Bath was nice. The bed was very good. The TV a wee bit small for the distance from you on the bed, but whatja gonna do. I just slept there; I didn't habitate between the hours of 8am & midnight. And since my room was higher up & on the side of the building, I was shielded from the typical road/street noise issues you might have found had I been facing the street directly.

It's location is perfect for me. If you want to have a Chinatown stay while in that neck of the woods, I don't think you'll find a less expensive property, definitely not with the value imho. Not sure of the rates during the summer and more fun-weather months of autumn/early winter, but I'll definitely be back. It's just too easy a hop from one of my major NYC playgrounds.

I just checked out about seven hours ago after spending 2 nights here. As far as hotels go...this place ROCKS!!. Cleanliness, willingness to help, overall attitude, amenities..everything is great.

Rooms are small but SUPER CLEAN and VERY NICE by standards. Windows that open, which I love. Hotel desk staff is/has been great.

You want to talk about a wonderful breakfast - let's go. Waffles (you make, not pre-fab) eggs, toast, bagels, pastries, juice, coffee, tea,..you name it, it's here. All for the price of your room.

I have not had such a great experience in many years. Don't hesitate.
