Decided to take a chance and book a motel room due to being in New Braunfels on short notice. Normally I would have booked an Airbnb but everything was spoken for in the area.
Check in was easy enough, once we got to the room which was non smoking, you could obviously tell it had been smoked in, not a big deal to us we know it was a part of taking a chance on cheap and short notice. Then we noticed the stained furniture and pillow cases, deciding we weren't going to be sitting in either one of the chairs.
We requested new bedding for one of the beds due to stains being on the pillow cases and didn't feel comfortable sleeping on them. When the motel worker arrived he asked if their was an issue and we showed him the cases and sheets, he brought more only to see that the new sheets had stains on them too. He grabbed another set and were clean.
Upon going into the bathroom the first thing we noticed was the mold on the curtain, I didn't get a picture of the bottom but you could tell it was moldy along with the side of the curtain.
Having no other choice but to use the shower, we cleaned up and not thinking anything of it walked across the carpet to the bed and noticed the bottom of our feet were black.
I know it's not going to be anything fancy which I'm completely okay with but it's obvious that the room had not been cleaned or even had a deep clean in a while.
Management was nice about everything. When we arrived there was adults and children in the pool and they were quiet for the most part with no huge disruptions or anything. Other thank the room not necessarily being the cleanest nor what we were expecting as far as our standards, just staying one night was enough.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 154206706May 31, 2021
No, don't stay here. I would not again and I never will recommend this place. We were kinda in a bind and waited too long to book a room for the holiday weekend and this was one of our only choices. We were supposed to be going to Tennessee to go white water rafting but my oldest son was having trouble getting off and was not able to so it was just my boyfriend, youngest son and I. Rooms were definitely overpriced. Beds were so uncomfortable, I woke up each day I stayed with my back hurting. We had a dirty towel folded up as a clean towel. We asked for no room service and the first day someone came in anyways and cleaned up the room. Second and third day they knocked once then just walked in. Lampshade was broken. Sign outside is hard to read. Very noisy because it's right off the freeway. They definitely need some upgrading here. Pros: the tv works, they have a fridge and microwave in the room. Very small coffee pot and coffee. If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep then this could be your place.
I am changing This review to one star because as we were packing up our car, we left the door slightly ajar and we came back from one of the trips to get more stuff and the house keeper was in our room starting to take off the sheets. He told me the door was open so he started cleaning. I told him that we were loading the car and about to check out. He just kept doing what he was doing. My boyfriend then comes up to the room and asks him to leave until we are finished and check out and the man proceeds to call us crazy people before leaving.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Taylor F.Schertz, TX3971Jan 7, 2023
Great friendly personable staff, perfect location, and nice newly renovated rooms with a super brightly lit parking lot and a pool

I expected the room to be okay considering the cheap price but Jesus Christ it was it bad.. I'll post pictures of my room but it smelled like cheap cigarettes and bad decisions. The bed felt like springs were digging into your spine and the sheets were disgusting. Neighbors were tweaked out of their minds. I left the hotel after 45 minutes and they gave me a refund for 2 out of the 3 days I reserved. Customer service was good though, they sure knew how to ring up a refund as if they've done it a time or two. I highly recommend you spend the extra money for a nicer place.

Beware this motel!! Have stayed at this motel several times I thought I was a good repeat customer then I complained about rate increase during my stay during winter ice storm and they have blackballed me from staying there because I complained very bad customer service so word to potential hotel guest don't complain about anything or they will ban you from staying there

We were here a whole TEN minutes after check in. DIRTY linen on beds, and room smelled so bad of smoke it triggered my asthma and I had a full fledge asthma attack. Popcorn was under the sheets of the bed closest to the window. Window unit barely ran and was spouting most of water. They wouldn't even refund us our stay. Offered to move us to rooms but same issues!!!!
The front desk clerk couldn't even speak English well, it was so hard to understand him.
Do NOT stay here, even if you are desperate!!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alison C.Spring, TX2762214191Aug 6, 2015
The Good:
-The location is only 15 minutes away from Schlitterbahn and about 30 minutes away from San Antonio.
-Only $99 a night- not bad compared to their neighbors.
-Quick and easy check in and check out experience.
The Bad:
-Weird parking lot -- most of the spots were very narrow. Really hard to unpack your car if you can't open the doors all of the way.
-Pillows were very squishy. Too squishy. I was glad I brought my rock hard pillow.
-We started with only two towels (in a room with two beds). When we requested more towels the second night, the office was only able to give two more.
-Not very many outlets, and not all of the outlets worked, so we took turns charging our phones.
Thin walls = Neighbors packing up in the morning and slamming doors woke us up both nights.
The Ugly:
-Water pressure in the shower was almost nonexistent,
-AC settings were "Warm, Cool, Cold" -- and none of them really did what they advertised.
-The more the bathroom fan was turned on, the more black.. mold stuff fell into the bathroom (see picture).Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Breanna K.Cleburne, TX13038Apr 28, 2017
You get what you paid for. Really wanted to leave but we already checked in so late. We put our own blankets over the bed so we didn't lay on their blankets dust was everywhere. Would not sit on the chairs at all. So nasty, stains everywhere

BEWARE: YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE AT JEOPARDY HERE!
When I went to check in, the lobby was locked and I had to talk through a window from outside. It took the attendant almost 10 minutes to look up and notice me there. When he finally came over, he asked for my ID and card. When I presented it to him, he said my reservations were for the next day and I would have to come back at 4pm. After going back and forth with him, I showed him my email confirmation and he went to look it up again and said we did have a reservation for that night and finally gave me a key, mind you It was really windy and cold outside the whole time this was happening.
We finally get to the room and are horrified by what we see. The rooms look nothing like the pictures! The sheets and pillow cases have stains and holes in them, there are crumbs, dirt, and hair under the sheets and the mattress. The floor had horrible stains. There were stains and dirt all over the walls and we were afraid to touch them. The room also smelled like smoke. There was black mold and mildew in the exhaust fan in the restroom. We slept in our clothes and shoes on top of the sheets and were too afraid to even use the restroom. The outside door also wouldn't lock and had trouble closing. Spend your money wisely elsewhere because your health and safety are at jeopardy here. Also, the $133 price tag is outrageous for this place!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
