Description:
D1 X+I/30; D2 absent; P1 17; P2 I/5; A II/8. Color dark grey on back, silvery on flanks and belly. Fins are grey or light grey, sometimes lightly mottled. Body rounded, eye large. Teeth villiform; teeth well differentiated into large and small in both jaws Caudal fin rhomboid. Scales cycloid on breast, elsewhere ctenoid.
