Dutchman Hospitality Group announced they have entered into an agreement to purchase the Lamplight Inn located at 5676 Township Road 362 in Berlin. Lawrence and Susie Miller, formerly of Hartville, Ohio and Brandon, Florida, built the Lamplight Inn in 2002. When health issues forced the Millers to sell the bed and breakfast, Larry and Helen Wilgus became the owners and resident innkeepers. “After eight years as innkeepers, God is leading us to a new place and we are beginning a new chapter in our lives,” said Wilgus, known to many as The Singing Innkeeper. During their time as owners and innkeepers, they welcomed hundreds of people to the inn, providing them with award winning lodging, serving them meals, sharing Amish Country with them and making many lasting friendships along the way. Mike Palmer, president of Dutchman Hospitality Group said, “Dutchman Hospitality is very excited to add this beautiful property to our company and we look forward to offering our guests accommodations within walking distance of all Berlin has to offer. The Inn will be a great complement to our Berlin Farmstead Restaurant, located within a mile of the Lamplight Inn.” Although new ownership means the name will change to Carlisle Country Inn Berlin, Palmer said, “Long-time guests at the Lamplight Inn can be assured that it is the desire of Dutchman Hospitality Group to offer the same high quality accommodations and service levels characteristic of Lamplight Inn, coupled with an experience that mirrors the Dutchman Hospitality tradition of excellence our guests have come to expect at Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek and Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek.” More information about Dutchman Hospitality Group is available at www.dhgroup.com The anticipated opening of the new Carlisle Country Inn Berlin is August 25.
