Happy Camper
This is a very well maintained and comfortable park. Very scenic area and plenty of activities to satisfy the whole family..... Great temperatures in November and December. Just a nice all around facility.

Great Park!
Left Big Bend NP looking for a RV park with full hookups. Absolutely worth the drive past all the gravel parking (RV) lots enroute to Maverick. This gem actually has some trees, a wonderful club house with pool & showers. A golf resort, Restaurant/bar is right across the street.

Secret Best campground
Almost do not want to share about this wonderful campground. Was just a joy to stay here! Site 101 and a lovely piece of lawn and big tree to rest under out of the desert sun! The bathrooms was pristine, pool area beautiful and games free and very good shape! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel opposite also great and bakery had the best ice-cream, sitting outside at quaint tables and watching the roadrunner performing in the attractive gardens! Don’t miss this one, it is so worth driving the extra miles to Big Bend and do bot miss going to the state park as well, it is gorgeous! Wifi worked well, Verizon cell service only roaming. Site was spacious and nice full hookup. Thank you Maverick!

RESORT AMENITIES
Beautiful resort oasis in West Texas...if you are looking for amenities to fill the days in between hiking Big Bend, then this is the place to stay. They have an incredible golf course, resort dining, spa and pool facilities, plus they offer rafting, horseback riding and other outdoor activities. Clean and friendly...spots are nice and level...the views are amazing! It's convenient to Big Bend Ranch State Park and all their hiking trails, plus river access to the Rio Grande. If your goal is to only hike Big Bend NP then keep in mind you have roughly a 45 minute drive to the park entrance and about a 30 minute drive to Terlingua where they have many other RV park options, however those will not have the same resort amenities as Maverick RV Park.

Great spot. It’s a resort so it’s a bit pricier. But beautiful and clean with amazing bathrooms. And I’m happy to report that the wifi is great! We had a strong signal even in the back.

Nice RV Park
We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Large lots, good hookups, nice bathhouse & welcoming pool on 90* plus days. Scenic drive to Presidio with many stops for pictures. Be prepared to overspend on bad to mediocre meals if you eat out locally. At the current time, fuel is $4.00 gal. So fill up and grocery shop before arriving.

Wife and I stayed here in Jan. of ‘18. The folks here were great , we had to extend our stay for 4 days due to weather. Office could not have been more helpful, extended us and gave a reduced rate for longer stay. The campground itself is clean and well kept, just like everything in the area was a little dusty, but you’re in the desert. Spent most of our time jeeping with friends can’t wait to get there again.

It was a nice clean park. There are sites set up to buddy camp. Staff was very nice. I did not have cell service with AT&T and the internet was almost nonexistent.

We came for an extended stay - 30 days. Sites were very nice and staff friendly and helpful. Internet was terrible. Fuel and food was very expensive.

Excellent!
We had a great stay here for a little over a week. Beautiful area. Perfectly situated between the NP & the SP. Staff are extremely helpful & friendly. Nice big, level sites with full hook ups. Wifi signal present, but variable. Sounds like they will be getting fiberoptic in the near future. Excellent facilities - laundry, showers, clubhouse. Very nice pool. Nice dog run. Excellent trails that you can access right at the campground! Everything is well maintained & clean. We were sad to leave!

Nice Park But.......
Although a nice park, it still has a lot of opportunities for improvement. First the good things. Restroom facilities excellent. Frequency of cleaning could be better. A lot of good sites. The peripheral area on the east side is grown up a lot and tens to bring in a lot of mosquitoes and other insects, especially ants. Cleanliness of sites is good. Now the bad. The cable is terrible. Picture is extremely snowy and this is on all of the east peripheral sites. There is no pest control used. Black ants are everywhere. Staff is friendly but the greeter is not very proficient in her position. When asked to move spots due to the insect situation, she said there was no room. As of 7:15p on our last evening, 70% of the park remained vacant leaving plenty of sites to move to. When asked about what are the best things to do in the area, they had no idea and just showed us the brochure table. Overall the campground is good but with just a little effort can become a lot better

Maverick Review
Nice enough with large spaces. Wireless and Verizon cell service are weak in the park but slow and there mostly. I agree with what others had to say.

Good Destination Park
The sites are well spaced in an arrangement I really like: pairs back to back with a large open space between each pair. Some shaded sites. Asphalt roads and the sites are nearly level. Power is reliable, but WiFi is weak. The shower/restrooms are pretty good but need some maintenance. Fuel is $3.50/gallon here, $2.89 in Study Butte, and $2.59 in Alpine TX. Shopping options are limited so come supplied. This is a great base camp to explore Big Bend NP and Big Bend Ranch SP: beautiful landscapes!!
