Administration > License

Use the Administration > License page to view information about the current search appliance license or install a new license key.

The Current License Information section displays the following information:

  • Number of days before the license expires
  • Search appliance identification number
  • License identification number
  • Date the license expires
  • Maximum number of collections you can create
  • Maximum number of front ends you can create
  • Maximum number of pages that can be served by the search appliance

When you purchase a new license or a license for additional capacity, you receive the new license key in email. Use the following instructions to install the new license key.

Before Starting this Task

Before you install a new license key, review your current and future search and index requirements and the growth of your document corpus. Contact your Google sales manager to arrange the purchase of the new license.

Installing a License Key

Use these instructions to install a new license key on the search appliance.

To install a license key:

  1. Open the email message containing the new license key.
  2. Save the attached license key to the local computer.
  3. On the Admin Console, click Administration > License.
  4. Click the Browse button and navigate to the location where you saved the license key in step 2.
  5. Select the license key and click Open.
  6. Click View New License.
  7. Click Accept and Install New License. The new license limits are displayed on the Admin Console.
