The Tawaki Project, a volunteer-led conservation organization in New Zealand, is using Google for Nonprofits to transform how penguin data is collected, shared and understood, unlocking critical insights to drive real-world conservation outcomes.

Through Google for Nonprofits, the Tawaki Project integrated Google Sheets to standardise and automate its data collection, cutting down 6 weeks of manual processing into just minutes. Alongside this, Google Maps Platform API credits enabled the team to develop PenguinTracking, a data visualisation platform that transforms complex datasets into interactive, accessible insights, helping to raise awareness of New Zealand’s penguins.
